Yes! Sliding-scale rates are available to clients experiencing financial strain. Please contact me to discuss your individual situation.

  • do you take insurance?

Please note that I・do not・accept insurance as payment nor am I considered an out-of-network provider. I prioritize your confidentiality by eliminating the need to share your very personal information with insurance companies. As such, I will not communicate with insurance companies nor will I provide superbills. This ensures that your treatment is not influenced by the restrictions and requirements often set by major insurance carriers.

  • do you take medicare?

I have opted out of Medicare and only provide services to Medicare clients under a private agreement. • do you offer evening or weekend sessions?

I offer flexible scheduling and evening & weekend appointments are available.

  • are sessions in-person or online?

All sessions are conducted online for clients located anywhere in the state of Texas. Online counseling sessions use technology to achieve a face-to-face video experience similar to that of FaceTime or Skype.

  • what if i’m not tech savvy? is online video therapy complicated to figure out?

You can join an online video counseling session from any internet-connected device such as a mobile phone, tablet, or computer, by simply clicking a link and following the instructions on the screen.

  • are online video sessions private?

Online video sessions are conducted through an encrypted HIPAA-compliant platform. It is your responsibility to ensure privacy from your side by joining your online sessions from a location that is private and free of interruptions.

  • how long will i need therapy?

The length of time spent in therapy is determined by a variety of factors and will vary depending on your unique situation. Reasons for seeking therapy are highly individual, so everyone enters treatment with different needs.

  • how do i get started?

Schedule your free 20-minute telephone consultation by contacting me! You can send an email by clicking the button at the bottom of this page, or by leaving me a voicemail.

  • what is the purpose of the 20-minute consultation?

The free consultation is not a therapy session—it is more like an interview. It is an informal way for us to introduce ourselves and determine if working together is appropriate for your needs. You are under no obligation to schedule a session at the end of the call. And, if we conclude that we aren't a good fit, upon request, I am happy to provide a referral to someone who might be a better match for you.

  • how should i prepare for the first session?

After scheduling your first session, you will be sent a link via email to a secure client portal where you’ll be able to view, complete, and digitally sign all of the required paperwork. The paperwork will include consent forms, a good faith estimate of expected charges, billing and contact information, and a brief questionnaire to gather some pertinent history. Please note that all paperwork must be completed prior to your first appointment. Should you have questions or concerns about any of the forms, please do not hesitate to contact me for clarification.

  • i’ve never been to therapy…what can i expect in the first session?

It is completely normal to feel a bit nervous, so, think of therapy as two people having a conversation. Over time, I will ask about your childhood, your family of origin, your relationships, and the experiences contributing to your distress. Most importantly, know that you are free to divulge as much or as little information as you choose.

  • what is a “good faith estimate” and how will i receive one?

Effective January 1, 2022, the "No Surprises Act" requires health care practitioners to provide a "Good Faith Estimate" of what the charges could be for psychotherapy services provided to you. Under the law, health care providers need to give clients who don’t have insurance or who are not using insurance an estimate of the bill for medical services, including psychotherapy services.

You have the right to receive a Good Faith Estimate for the total expected cost of any non-emergency healthcare services, including psychotherapy services.

Make sure your health care provider gives you a Good Faith Estimate in writing at least 1 business day before your medical service or item. You can also ask your health care provider, and any other provider you choose, for a Good Faith Estimate before you schedule an item or service.

If you receive a bill that is at least $400 more than your Good Faith Estimate, you can dispute the bill.

Make sure to save a copy or picture of your Good Faith Estimate. For questions or more information about your right to a Good Faith Estimate, visit www.cms.gov/nosurprises

Note. Therapy is an extremely personal experience tailored to individual client needs and presenting concerns. While it is not possible for a psychotherapist to know, in advance, how many psychotherapy sessions may be necessary or appropriate for a given person, this notice provides an estimate of the cost of services provided. With this in mind, a Good Faith Estimate may be provided for recurring services within a 12-month period.
